In late April two of our team members, Ted Afetian and Phillip Sapon, were part of a group given the opportunity to travel to Sydney, Australia for the Kimball Office 2017 Annual Top Performer Appreciation Trip. This year’s trip was to Sydney and surrounding areas, one of the most beautiful and inspiring regions of Australia.
We were absolutely humbled to be recognized as one of Kimball Office’s top sellers and we’re grateful for the opportunity to take this trip. Seeing some of the world’s greatest designs helped us think more about how we could approach problems differently and solve them with creative solutions.
The Sydney Experience
Our team visited Bondi Beach and its surrounding areas. Bondi Beach is approximately 4 miles from Sydney’s central business district and is a common spot for travelers to visit and relax. And from what Ted tells us, it’s gorgeous!
Kimball Office provided us the opportunity to take a tour of the world-famous Sydney Opera House. The Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts center and is one of the 20th century’s most famous and distinctive buildings known for its innovated and stunning design, being able to walk inside the world’s most distinctive buildings was truly inspiring.
After the Opera House, we were invited onto a Harbor Dinner Cruise and surprised with a firework show. We cruised around the Sydney Harbor and caught a great view of the show from our table on the ship, as well as a beautiful night view of the Opera House.
We had a chance to take a break from the arts and architecture and got to spend a day at the Sydney Animal Park. The team checked out different native Australian animals as well as their habitats. The park was centrally located in Darling Harbor, which is only about 15 minutes southwest of the Opera House.
Kimball Office also invited us to take a side trip to Australian’s famous Wine Country with a tour which included wine tasting and lunch. The International Winemaker of the Year, McGuigan Wines was the featured winery. Other members of the trip chose to do the Sydney Bridge Climb, an absorbing 360-degree panorama of Sydney. “Like an exposed spine, the outer rim delivers you to the peak, as the sky remains just beyond your outstretched fingertips.”
Coming Home Inspired and Appreciated
We were grateful to be recognized for the hard work we put in this year and grateful to have experienced a lovely trip that highlighted intricate design and different cultural experiences.
Heartfelt thanks to Kimball Office for this extraordinary experience. We can’t wait for next year’s trip!
