CPM One Source has partnered with Skywell, a Santa Monica-based water technology company. CPM is participating in Skywell’s Early Adopter BETA Testing program for the Skywell 5T atmospheric water generation unit at the CPM Studio at The CalEdison Building located at One Bunker Hill in Downtown LA.
The Skywell is making drinking water out of thin air.
How exactly does this work?
Skywell’s goal is simple: To change the way people and companies think about drinking water through a revolutionary technology that creates fresh, clean drinking water from the air.
The Skywell takes in ambient air, collects moisture through condensation, and then filters it through a comprehensive proprietary purification process to remove contaminants. The result is clean drinking water that is ready for hot or cold dispensing. (If you want the full scientific process, check it out here.)
Depending on ambient conditions, the Skywell can produce up to five gallons of drinking water in a 24-hour period. Simply plug it into a standard electrical outlet and let it do its work.
The Skywell unit comes equipped with an 8-inch color interactive touchscreen, which runs the Skywell App that displays available water temperatures, current water tank level, and water production capabilities for that given day so the user always knows how the Skywell is doing.
Users also have the ability to create their own unique Hydration Profile, which allows them to set daily hydration goals, indicates water consumption, and tracks how many plastic bottles the user has saved as a result of using the Skywell.
The Skywell Advantage
The Skywell has many critical advantages over conventional drinking sources:
Skywell vs. Water Delivery:
- Earth-friendly: No delivery trucks, which reduces the user’s carbon footprint
- Convenience: No large, heavy bottles to handle and store, and no deliveries to manage
Skywell vs. Individual Plastic Bottles:
- Earth-friendly: Eliminates the environmental cost of producing and disposing of billions of plastic bottles
- Cost Effective: Lower cost
Skywell vs. Tap Water Filtration Systems:
- Earth-friendly: No water waste common with many under-the-sink filtration systems
- Convenience: No water line required, offering the flexibility to place the Skywell anywhere
Skywell has spent the last two years field testing their technology in partnership with many iconic local businesses and organizations, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Patagonia, and CalTech, and is bringing their 5-gallon atmospheric water generation to market this Fall.
