About the Client
Interior Architects (IA) is the first global architecture firm focused exclusively on interiors. The firm provides strategic planning, interior architecture, and design services for corporations, businesses, and institutions.
They were founded in 1984 and have twelve offices in the United States (Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, San Francisco, Seattle, Silicon Valley and Washington, D.C.) and two international offices (London and New Delhi).
CPM One Source was hired by Interior Architects to manage and coordinate their group’s move from their Downtown Los Angeles location to their new location only a few blocks away. CPM’s role was to not only coordinate IA’s move but also to specify, procure, move and install all new furniture and existing equipment.
Our team worked with Kimball Office and Fluid Concepts to furnish a space that was consistent with Interior Architect’s sleek and modern work environment. The project was a great success for CPM One Source as well as Interior Architects.
During the furniture delivery, and first phase of relocation, we encountered unforeseen construction delays. Due to a delayed inspection we were told we would not be able to deliver the furniture that evening as planned, which was the only time the building would allow, even though we were supposed to begin the installations first thing the following morning.
While many companies would have panicked and walked away to come back at a later date, our Relocation Manager and project team worked with the contractor to come up with a fast and creative solution. We were able to get everything delivered as planned that evening by creating a temporary storage area on that floor in the contractor’s swing space. Our project team is always ready to deal with unforeseen circumstances and find solutions on the fly.
