Zapproved Inc. is a Portland based software-as-a-service company that provides cloud-hosted software for corporate in-house legal departments. Recognized in the 2014 Inc. 500 as “one of the fastest growing private companies in the U.S.,” Zapproved was bursting at the seams in their 8,000 square foot Headquarters in Hillsboro, OR. In February 2015 Zapproved signed a sub-lease for a space more than double the square footage of their existing office. The new 19,000 square foot space is located in the Machine Works building located in the Pearl on Northwest Northrup Street. The space would allow Zapproved to expand to a headcount of 115 total.
Zapproved and CBRE jointly brought CPM on-board to assist with the fast-tracked relocation with scope of work including furniture re-use planning, workstation dismantling, asset disposition, furniture installation and building & vendor coordination. The 50 person move was accomplished in a single-phase over the weekend of March 13, 2015.
CPM worked as an extension of the Zapproved team by pairing with their Director of Operations and support staff to formulate a move plans that supported the business needs, maintained continuity and minimized downtime.
In addition, as the project progressed it was clear that Zapproved needed a single point of contact to over-see the renovation and construction of the new space.
CPM assumed the leadership and advisory role for the project, with overall project management responsibility including maintaining and monitoring schedules and budget, vendor activities, coordination, logistics, communications and over-all furniture strategy. Weekly meetings were scheduled with Zapproved stakeholders, the General Contractor and construction Superintendent to review project progress and statuses.
