Challenges

Tight Schedule: The relocation had to be completed within a strict 4-week window during the semester break to ensure that the new campus was fully operational by the Summer semester in early July.

Coordination with GC: Construction delays at the NoHo West site required agile project management to adapt plans and maintain the project timeline.

Custom Fixture Management: The dismantling and reassembly of bespoke fixtures demanded meticulous attention to detail to preserve their functionality and aesthetic integrity.

Solutions

1. Comprehensive Project Management

Led by Deborah Shin, our Lead Project Manager, CPM One Source orchestrated the entire relocation process. Deborah’s expertise ensured that every aspect of the project was meticulously planned and executed, keeping the move on track despite the tight deadline.

2. Effective GC Coordination

Our team worked closely with Edward, the superintendent, to navigate construction delays. By maintaining open lines of communication and implementing flexible scheduling, we ensured that the project stayed within scope and budget.

3. Expert Installation and Moving Services

Juvenal, our Lead Installer, oversaw all large-scale installations, ensuring that custom fixtures were reassembled accurately and efficiently. Lupe Javier and Hugo, our Lead Movers, played pivotal roles in executing the physical move, handling all items with care to prevent any damage.

4. Dedicated Onsite Support

Melissa and Vivian provided essential onsite assistance, facilitating smooth communication between our crew and Gnomon’s staff. Their support was crucial in addressing any immediate concerns and ensuring a seamless transition.

Outcome

Despite the challenges, CPM One Source successfully completed the relocation within the 4-week timeframe. Gnomon transitioned smoothly to their new NoHo West campus, ready to welcome students for the Summer semester without any operational delays. The move not only upgraded their facilities but also enhanced their capacity to deliver top-tier visual effects education.
